Highs and Lows: Faux Weddings and a Funeral – RHONY

She’s baaaaaack.

Highs:

1. Wet dream. I have no intention of dancing on Bobby Zarin’s grave because he did seem like a decent guy. However, considering how Jill handled the fallout of his passing, I don’t have any issues with remarking on how this episode was obviously Jill Zarin’s wet dream. It contained the most positive Zarin footage since season two and got to show her triumphant reunion with Bethenny. She won, and well damnit, I think I was rooting for her?

2. The Mercers. This episode was nothing if not a showcase of exactly why Tinsley deserved her season two with a great assist from Dale. The hotel lobby argument was hilarious with the highlight being Dale trying to say “it’s not funny” with a straight face and failing. I had seen the preview of this scene and didn’t realize it was just the Tinsley- Dale warm-up. Then, we go shopping for wedding dresses. Tinsley’s teen girl buying a prom dress affect was in full-force but we should have known she would have to Facetime her fertility doctor to check in on her frozen eggs. I want an entire spinoff of Tinsley caring for her frozen, unfertilized eggs and I won’t hear a word of disagreement. Aside from the dizzying heights of their scenes together, Tins was a delight on her own too. I died at “doing the Luann” to shimmy out of handcuffs and she has a great sense of humour about her own imprisonment. I’m glad a weirdly paced episode like this allowed her to really shine.

3. Faxes. I personally would pay in the five figures to take Sonja Morgan’s fax machine so I disagree with you Bethenny that it is garbage. Considering her Narnia-esque abode it wouldn’t surprise me if she still received faxes from her past life as happy wife Mrs. Morgan. Let the woman keep a few mementos, gosh.

Lows:

1. Different vibes. This episode definitely was a departure from the rest of the season. Thanks to Luann’s rehab stint and the extensive segment on Bobby, we really didn’t see much of Dorinda or Ramona, and all of the big storylines were essentially dropped. The good news is Luann is back next week and things will be picking up right where they left off.

Who else is itching for the mid-season trailer? We must be close and I can taste Colombia in the air.

I KNOW, IT’S JUST, SWEAR TO JESUS, I’M SORRY, SWEAR TO GOD
    SHH, I KNOW, SHHHHH. SHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
    THAT’S WHAT I SAID I’M SORRY, I’M SORRY, I’M–MEA CULPA

………YOU HAVE TO ADMIT IT’S PRETTY FUNNY THAT I SAID TO HIM “JUMP SHIP”

    I DON’T THINK IT’S FUNNY.

  2. The extended Tinsley solo segment was incredible and I’m so glad it wasn’t just me who liked it. Can you imagine enduring something of that description in Beverly Hills? It really did make a great case for Tinsley. I’m loving her more than I expected to.
